ABOUT THE BAKER

SHAWN BRIMAGER-HOLLEY, NURSE AND BAKER.

My name is Shawn Brimager-Holley. I am a wife, pediatric nurse, and

proud dog-mom to several 4-legged “weenies”(aka Dachshunds). My journey into baking began with my grandmother as a young girl. As the oldest of six grand-children, I spent a lot of the time in the kitchen with my grandma, making everything from breakfast, lunch and dinner, to splurging on desserts and other baked goods made from scratch.

After pursuing a degree in elementary education, personal experiences in my life including infertility and a close family member’s battle with cancer led me to a career change. I wanted to do something that would touch lives in a way that not many people get to do.

After much thought, I enrolled in to nursing school. It was BY FAR the most difficult and time consuming thing I have ever done, but I worked my tail off to get the initials RN behind my name…and eventually MSN, RN!

I have now been a nurse for almost 15 years, and I am so beyond blessed! My career has led me from a Level IV Trauma center, to oncology, to where I now reside in Fort Worth, Texas working in nursing leadership in pediatrics. I absolutely love it and can definitely say that I get my “kid-fix” at work- I feel like I have more kids than I could have ever dreamt of!

During my free time, I have found my long-lost passion of those days baking with my grandma! Whether it is custom sugar cookies, buttercream cakes, or even teaching cookie and cake decorating classes, I have once again found time to do what I love most, and that is spending time in my kitchen! I am happy to say that

The Sweet Spot Ft. Worth

is here to stay, and I am anxiously awaiting for the chance to make your upcoming celebration a little sweeter! I look forward to being part of your special event.
